On 23rd April you will live perform live here in Bangkok at Route 66. Have you visited Thailand before? Will it be your Bangkok debut?

Leng Yein: Im a beach babe and water baby. I have been frequently visiting the beautiful Koh's of thailand. I love Thailand's people and their smiles, and their culture. I just switched to DJ-ing so Bangkok will be my first Thailand debut :)

Jerryca Misty: I've visit Thailand several times, especially Bangkok, love this city here, Thai people is very friendly, food is good, party is good, beaches are beautiful as well! And besides that I have some good friends here as well that gives me better reason to visit more. Well I have performed in Route66, Nest, Gullivers before, but is my first debut with DJ Leng Yein here in Bangkok.

How did you guys meet and what made you team up?

Leng Yein: I was offered to do the opening of Malaysia's biggest bikini party and the organiser and sponsors wanted me to DJ. I met DJ Jerryca Misty thru a friend when I was asking around for dj classes and DJ Jerryca Misty offered to help and we work together eversince then …

Jerryca Misty: Met this wonderful lady through a friend while she was searching for some dj lesson, and she's such a sweetheart so why not make a new friend =)
Then we kinda really clicked well, even found out we're from the same hometown, so we started off to work with each other more often.

Leng Yein, You have been playing the piano since the tender age of 5 years and were crowned Miss Pahang Malaysia World in 2003. How did you get into DJing in the first place and how would you describe your music in just a few words?

I have classical background and im a singer in Taiwan. My album top 4th most sellable album on chart. I write all my songs and lyrics. I play all genre. I customised my set to where and what the people want so that I make sure my show will be a good party and people who come will enjoy and go home smiling. This is my job.

Jerryca Misty, You are the first female DJ who represent Kartelhitmen – Malaysia’s #1 DJ crew and hold residencies at Malaysia’s renowned clubs “Rootz” (Kuala Lumpur) and “Play” (Petaling Jaya). How did you get into DJing in the first place and how would you describe your music in just a few words?

Yes I would say is such an honour to be as a crew member of Kartelhitmen, and I'm very blessed and humbled to have this opportunity to work with more professionals in the industry. I got into DJing all because of the love of music, it was way back 12-13 years ago, got to meet some dj friends and found the mixing of what they did was awesome, and they're kind enough to teach me when I told them I'm interested to learn, and there's where it all started. My music with few words, open format, happy, classic, jaw dropping lol =D

What was the best and the worst gig you ever played and what was the funniest thing ever occurred during any of your performances?

Leng Yein: All the gigs are of different places and countries. My life changing gig was the one i played in ZOUK Club KL for the first time. ZOUK CLUB KL is the number one club In Malaysia. I was so stressed of the pressure and im so afraid what people will think of me as a newbie to be playing alongside Malaysia's top DJ's. When i finished my gig, Malaysia's number one DJ - Goldfish, gave me words of encouragement. It changed my life... From that day onward, I know despite what others have to say about my new job, as long as I work hard and be humble and are willing to learn and improve, I stand a chance of being a good dj. My most havoc gig was being the opening dj for rave parties for world top djs (Axwell , Zedd, Steve Aoki etc) My most memorable gig was the one i just did in Miri - Club Celebrities... Over a Thousand people who came from Sarawak, Brunei and Indonesia bought tickets just to see me and the number was great to me that they filled up the hotel right beside the club because they are so drunk and alot of them purposely flew in to see me... they queued one and a half hour just to take picture with me and for the effort, love, support and patience they have for me, make me reaasure myself that I have to work even harder and not let down anyone who believed and have hope in me ... DJ-ing, my new job, to me, is a responsible. I want to make sure everyone leaves happy …

Jerryca Misty: I would say there are 3 gigs that's the best I ever had, which is 1st, Hitz fm (no.1 radio station in Malaysia) birthday invasion in Taylor's university, the responds of the crowd was massive that really make me teared for the first time feeling love and support from them. Then last year I performed outdoor for a New Years Eve celebration to a 10,000 crowd, it's was just overwhelming I would say.Lastly it's a recent performance with DJ Leng Yein as well, at Sunway lagoon surf beach, also we had more than 10,000 crowd partying together, that's a very memorable moment. I never felt any gig of mine is terrible because as long I'm performing, I always give my very best and I always enjoy it. Funniest thing EVER, when Justin Beiber and Selina Gomez walked in the door right behind me when I was spinning, I thought I was dreaming lol!

What essential things you need to have with you at all times when you’re on tour and what things you miss the most when you’re away from home?

Leng Yein: I need my laptop, my songs, my headphones, my handphone, my show clothes, my assistant and my smile :)
I miss my family, co workers, and my dj teachers when im away... but I see them the second I get back and I keep in touch with them all the time. They know I want to make financial situation better and make a difference in life, so they totally understand and are very supportive of my new job. My family calls me up to make sure im healthy and get enough sleep. My DJ teachers check up on me all the time to make sure im good to go. Every single gig to me and my DJ teacher is important. Because i am so new. They make sure im ready and I have to make sure my gig is making party people happy.

Jerryca Misty: Gadgets for my performance, Handphone, camera, and I'm good to go!
I miss my friends and family the most when I'm away from home, also I'll be kinda sad that I can't hit the gym everyday cause I'm a freak like that haha =P

What are you currently working and focusing on? What’s on your agenda for the near future?

Leng Yein: Im focusing on learning everything I could possibly learn in DJ-ing. From dj-ing skills to Mixing and scratching... The second GoldSound Studio says im ready to go, I will take up producing classes and look forward to my producing journey …

Jerryca Misty: I'm currently having busy schedules touring around the world and I'm very happy about it cause I would love to visit more country to experience their culture and explore more for knowledge.
I am also currently working on debut of my singing career, that if you wanna know more then you gotta stay close to my updates =)

What can Bangkok expect of your upcoming performance?

Leng Yein: A good gym session with my fans ;P Singing to my songs, jumping and dancing all night long, ending the night with funny drunk faces and happy smiles ;)
