Siam2nite had the opportunity to have an exclusive interview with Stoneface & Terminal, shortly before their performance at Narz Club on 31st May.

You not only work together, you are best friends. How did you guys meet in the first place, how did you get in touch with electronic dance music and what made you team up to produce music?

We met at school in 2nd grade in 1984 and became friends a few years later. Over the years dance music became famous in Germany and we were blown away by it's power. In 1993 we began to DJ and make own tracks on computers.

Your musical style varies from relaxing tunes, vocal based songs to energy loaded club tracks. How would you describe your music in just a few words?

Melodic, powerful, cheeky, big-sounding

Your track “Incognition” was one of the biggest club hits in 2005. This year in February you released your latest track “Let You Fall”. What other tracks would you recommend to those that are not yet familiar with your music?

There are some more S&T singles like Super Nature, Blueprint, Moment, Don't Give A Fuck, Here To Stay, Breaking Through and We Own The Night, our recent collaboration with Kyau & Albert.

Your debut album “Wide Range” was released in 2007. Is there a new album in the making? What are you currently working on?

Yes, we are working on our next album, our next single and we just released a collaboration Kyau & Albert with Stoneface & Terminal called 'We Own The Night'.

You have been nominated for a Beatport Award, got airplays on BBC Radio 1 and constantly play for brands like A State Of Trance, Pacha New York, Ministry Of Sound London, Mayday, Godskitchen, Nature One and Creamfields on all continents. What were your personal highlights of your career so far?

It's really funny because you named almost all the highlights in your question. Also great was the WEMF (World Electronic Music Festival) in Canada, our gigs in South and Central America and A State Of Trance in Den Bosch.

You do a monthly radio show called “Stoneface & Terminal Euphonic Sessions”. What can you tell us about the concept of the show and where can people listen to it?

The concept is to show the people our favourite tracks every month and if they listen to our Stoneface & Terminal Euphonic Sessions, they are always up to date and the first ones who can listen to our latest and newest remixes and own productions. Our Session is available on iTunes, Mixcloud, Soundcloud and at hundred of Fm Stations around the world every month.

You travel a lot. What are the essential things you need to have with you at all times and what are the things you miss when you are on tour?

Henry: I always need my phone and laptop.
Matthi: I need a good Book or some good audio books. If we are longer on tour we miss the good German food.

What was the best and the worst gig you ever played?

Worst: We played in Los Angeles at an Open Air. After 45 minutes a guy collapsed in front of us. We stopped the music and the event was over. We hope he's doing well.

What was the funniest thing ever occurred during any of your performances?

The music stopped but Matthi didn't realize it because he was under the Headphones, full on dancing and jumping.

Are you adventurous if it comes to food? Do you try the local dishes of the countries you travel to, or do you usually eat what you know from home? Will you give spicy Thai food a chance?

We like to discover new food and we are open minded and try local and famous food of cities or countrys we play and yes of course we will give the spicy Thai food a chance.

You will perform live in Bangkok on 31st May at NARCISSUS. Will it be your Bangkok debut or have you played in Bangkok before?

It's the second time for us in Bangkok at Narcissus and we are looking forward to it!

Many would say Bangkok is one of the most exciting cities in the world. How is Bangkok different for you compared to the other cities in the world?

First of all, Bangkok is a mega City and it's great to spent some time there. The difference to other cities is, in our opinion, that Bangkok is a city with asian culture and the good thing is Bangkok doesn't try to change it like other cities. Many cities try to be like a big city in the United States or Europe but Bangkok shows you how beautiful it is to be a big city in asia, especially Thailand.

You are famed for your high-energy edged style. What can Bangkok expect of your performance at NARCISSUS on 31st May?

A high energy mix of our lates and newes Productions mixed with our favorite tracks for the moment and maybe some classic tracks.
