Exclusive Interview with Kid Chris
Globetrotter Kid Chris excites audiences in Europe, Asia, Africa and the USA in more than 60 countries, hundreds of cities with more than 150 gigs each year.. The selection of clubs, venues and festivals he performed, as a headline Dj is endless. He is the dj of the successful event series “In Bed with Space World Tour”. Born, raised and based in Cologne/ Germany, he loves to travels the world, always bringing good music and happiness with him. With his inimitable and pushing sound, he animates and excites every party crowd all over the globe. An irresistible mix of high quality and uplifting electronic dance music. The unique Kid Chris Sound is Ibiza influenced and combined with high energy club anthems and his breathtaking vocalist and mc live performance.
Siam2nite had the opportunity to have an exclusive interview with Kid Chris, shortly before his New Year's Eve performance at Mode Sathorn Hotel on 31st December.
You are originally from Germany, but now mostly associated with Ibiza due to your involvement with the world’s most awarded club Space Ibiza. How did you get in touch with electronic dance music in the first place and how did you get into DJing?
I’m into Electronic Dance Music since the early 90s. Music was always a huge part of my life. That’s how one thing came to another. I started Djing in the end of the 90s as well.
How would you describe your music in just a few words?
Uplifting Electronic Dance Music
Your Track Choon took place in the Top #3 of the German dance charts and your Remix for “Mighty Dub Katz – Magic Carpet Ride” was on Position #1 of the Traxsource Sale Charts. Which other tracks of yours would you recommend to someone that is not yet familiar with your music?

As DJ of the highly successful event series In Bed with Space World Tour you bring the sound of Space Ibiza to the world. How is it to be an ambassador for such a highly respected brand?
It’s an honor to be a part of the In Bed With Space World Tour. We are touring since more than 10 Years in a row now. Always a pleasure!
You’re a real globetrotter, doing over 150 gigs each year. What are the essential things you need to have with you at all times and what are the things you miss when you are on tour?
Essential things are my Camera. Taking Pictures of funny and awesome moments on the tour. I don’t miss anything while touring as it’s always exciting to discover new countries and new people.
Looking back on all those gigs, which were your personal highlights and what was the best and the worst gig you ever played?
Every gig is a highlight on it’s own. You can create your special atmosphere by yourself. If you perform in front of 50.000 people or of fifty… both can be a lifetime experience.
You have brought the In Bed with Space World Tour party series to Bangkok a couple of times already. Once on New Year’s Eve 2007 to The Club Khaosan and twice to Bed Supperclub. On 31st December you will return once again by popular demand to play an exclusive gig here in Bangkok at Mode Sathorn Hotel. Did you keep your previous gigs in good memory? Are you excited to return to Bangkok?
I have very special memories, when it comes to live gigs in Bangkok. The atmosphere and the crowd is so outstanding. High Energy. That’s it. I just love it! Very happy to be back in one of my favorite cities all over the world. Can’t wait to perform at the brand new Mode Hotel for the very first time.
Are you adventurous if it comes to food? Do you try the local dishes of the countries you travel to, or do you usually eat what you know from home? Do you enjoy Thai food?
I’m in love with Thai Food. Even at home, I eat it as much as I can. It’s the best food in the world for me.
