In 2018, the indie music event, Maho Rasop Festival, was launched for the first time by three top concert promoters of alternative acts: Have You Heard?, Seen Scene Space, and Fungjai.

The festival sees an ensemble of the world’s top indie bands and artists. Last year’s lineup includes the likes of Vaccines, Slowdive, Washed Out, DEAN, and PREP. Undoubtedly, these shows have a special place in the hearts of alternative fans.

As for 2019, the promoters are bringing to festival-goers an army of international artists, a longer event, and a bigger lineup! Maho Rasop Festival 2019 is happening this November 16-17 (Sat-Sun) at Live Park, Rama 9.

Maho Rasop’s roster includes over 30 acts, but first among the headliners is British indie rock band, Bombay Bicycle Club. It’s exciting to see them return to the spotlight, considering the band announced a hiatus back in 2016 after being on the scene for over a decade.

Next on the top list is King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - an Australian psychedelic rock band. Their hit “Work This Time” has brought much recognition to this act from down under. The Horrors, who’s also joining them, is a British indie rock/post-punk band whose albums never drop from the UK’s Top 40 chart.

NY-based indie-pop act, The Drums, released “Let’s Go Surfing” nine years ago. However, the track has remained on the charts and has been played 41 million times on Spotify.

Also joining the event as headliners are BADBADNOTGOOD, with an eclectic mix of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and electronica; and Cuco, an American synthpop/bedroom pop artist who returns to Thai fans after his solo concert just last year.

Plus, there are over twenty Thai and international acts you shouldn’t miss; we believe their performance won’t let any fans down.

The lineup includes Deafheaven, Junoflo, Phum Viphurit, SWIM DEEP, Summer Salt, YOUNGOHM & YOUNG BONG, The fin., BBNO$, never young beach, Benny Sings, Cosmo’s Midnight, DCNXTR, LITE, Pomrad, ONRA, CHAI, No Party For Cao Dong, Say Sue Me, Maft Sai, FOLK9, Khana Bierbood, Supergoods, STOIC, TONTRAKUL, Nuh Peace, Gulf of Meru, and Martian Child.

If you’re not sure you’ve heard all of them, check out our curated playlist for Maho Rasop Festival 2019. Let these sublime 55 indie tracks from Thai and international artists take you to the dreamland before you see the alternative acts live at the event!
