Exclusive Interview with Bassjackers

Exclusive Interview with Bassjackers

BASSJACKERS have at major festivals such as ULTRA and EDC and in clubs all over the world. They made their Bangkok Debut in December 2013 at 808 Festival. Their return to Bangkok at DEMO Thonglor will be a chance to catch them performance an intimate club performance. Expect an explosive mix of Electro- and Progressive House.

Siam2nite had the opportunity to have an exclusive interview with Bassjackers, shortly before their performance at DEMO Thonglor on 7th October.

You met each other at high school and became friends. Marlon got into DJing around and Ralph got into music production. It was Fedde Le Grand that pickup up one of your first tracks and within 8 years you became the highly successful production duo you are today. How would you summarize the key moments of those 8 years?

Off course the first release 'Beatcut' was a big moment, then we skip to 2011 when we released 'Mush, Mush' on Tiesto's imprint Musical Freedom. That became the biggest festival track of that year. And early 2014 was a big moment when we released 'Crackin' (with Martin Garrix). That track got us on the radio internationally and is one of the biggest festival tracks of the moment. Gigs like Ultra Music Festival & Tomorrowland are always special as well and cherry on top was that we closed EDC Las Vegas mainstage this year!

Your music is an energetic and bass-heavy mix of Electro- Progressive House. Your recent remix of “Dear Life” (by Dannic feat. Bright Lights) made it to the #7 in Beatport’s main chart and #1 in Electro House chart. What other recent tracks would you recommend to someone that is not yet familiar with your music?

We really have had a good year in terms of hits, the Dear Life remix was our 4th Beatport top 10 this year!! Therefore there's so much to recommend, but biggest in our set are: Like That, Crackin, Derp and Grid (/w Dyro).

What are you currently working and focusing on and what’s on your agenda for the near future?

Our next single is just done and will be released on Spinnin Records on October 17, it's called 'Savior' and is already being played by big names like Hardwell, Afrojack and Martin Garrix. Further we are going to embark on a big bustour through the US together with Dyro, which is going to be phenomenal!

On 9th December 2013 you made your Bangkok debut alongside Bingo Players, Chuckie and Steve Aoki at 808 Festival. Did you keep the show - and Thailand in general - in good memory?

Definately! The people, the culture and the vibe are so awesome, it's a pleasure to be there! Cant wait to be back!

After performing at Global Gathering in Korea you will come to Thailand on October 7 for an exclusive performance at DEMO Thonglor. What can Bangkok expect of your upcoming performance?

Very much cool new music and a lot of energy! We have been preparing for a while now and cant wait to show what we have got!
