Chang Carnival 2017 Electric Circus: Awakening A Giant
When a company the size of Chang (ThaiBev) throws their hat into the festival ring, it makes a noise that will definitely be heard. Especially in a time when so many events are happening all at once, it takes a mammoth like Chang – a main player in the beverage industry – to really create the waves in a saturated market.
The Chang Carnival Electric Circus concept is nothing new, it has been ongoing for quite some time now. For those of you who have been following, you may have seen the Carnival move around the country and pop up in a city near you. The format normally sees Chang set up a massive live concert stage to host the biggest Thai artists, among gaming booths, and food stalls. However, for the latest iteration of the Chang Carnival Electric Circus in Bangkok a new twist has been added – world-renown superstar DJs.
Happening on Saturday 25 February, 2017 at Asiatique The Riverfront the trademark green of Chang will be lighting up the Chao Phraya River in a massive carnival style festival. Here are a few things for you to look forward to, separated into 2 categories.
Superstar DJs Ready to Party Rock!
Oliver Heldens
Climbing up to number 8 from 12 the year before on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs ranking in 2016, the superstar Dutch DJ has come a long way. His success in bringing future house to the mainstream has allowed him to bring new sounds to his audiences – often times leading to an uncontrollable urge to do the shuffle. At only the tender age of 22, if he can maintain his growth as an artist since being discovered by Tiesto in 2013, then we can only imagine what heights he could climb to. The electro/bouncy house DJ from Germany comes in at number 78 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs in 2016 and some may wonder why he is not ranked any higher. As a DJ that has been touring the circuits for some time now, the Dutch progressive/electro house DJ Justin Prime is no stranger to the limelight. Multiple Zones and Fun Activities on Offer
Gateway and Glass Elephant Entrance
Prepare yourself for some awesome photo ops as soon as you arrive at the Carnival. The entry gateway is rumored to be some very big lit-up spiral rings inspired by the circus. Walk through that and you may end up at the event’s landmark, a glass elephant made from 5,000 soda bottles, that will be standing tall ready to welcome you into the party of your life! Wherever you decide to walk by, you will surely go home with a few memorable snaps.
Game Stations
Activities are always a must have at any carnival, but at Chang Carnival they have to be very creative and fun. Firstly, start off at the Chang Lazer Maze – a dynamic moving maze that will bring you some very confusing fun. Next, run to the Chang Jump Ball – a trampoline court where teams can compete in a game of trampoline basketball. But if you become tired, cool down with some less physical activities at the Chang Fun Game station where u can practice your archery and ring throwing skills for example. At the end, do not forget to drop by the Chang Fun House for some fun selfies in the many mirrors on display or paint up your body at the Chang Paint Bar.
Chang Tent
A mini stage will be set up under the giant Chang Tent so the crowds can come and party together up close and personal with their favorite superstar DJs. The spectacular lighting and visual mapping is guaranteed to be off the hook, so do not miss this party area especially when the big-name DJs come on to showcase what might be some of their biggest bangers. It will definitely be an intimate outburst of energy.
Performance Stage
You have your DJ performances at the Chang Tent to keep you entertained, but this being a Chang event another performance stage will also be set up to ignite the fantasy fires inside all of us. At the performance stage is where we will witness the concept of the “Electric Circus” best. There will be 2 main shows, a flying show – where acrobatics will be involved – and a fire show – where, you guessed it, a lot of fire hoops will be involved. Regardless of what show you end up catching, it will be extraordinary.
The draw of this event may be the DJs or it may be the different activity zones that are available to all attendees.
