Warp Music Festival 2017: 5 Ways To Survive Saturn

Warp Music Festival 2017: 5 Ways To Survive Saturn

More often than not, when we ask people how their experience at a music festival was, a very typical answer is that “it was out of this world!” We get it, the lighting, the music, and the people really feels like a space odyssey that engulfs your whole world for the day. You see things that make your eyes glow and hear things that really make you go “wow”. It is no surprise then why a space theme really suits this kind of event as it perfectly embodies the excitement and mystery that is present.

So, after the Madness on Mars in 2015 and getting Lost on Jupiter in 2016, Warp Music Festival is back between 19 – 20 May, 2017 at Warp Base Station (near Saisawan Resort) in Pattaya City. This time around revelers will have get the chance to travel along in the Rave Nation’s spaceship and land on Saturn where the mission is to be Survivors of Saturn. Of course, you can take on this mission solo. But like any space mission, we feel like a little bit of preparation may come in handy. So here is a cheat-sheet from Siam2nite and 5 ways to survive Saturn:

Round-Up A Capable Crew

Any festival is better with friends. The more people you have with you, the more fun you will have – but it does not take an expert to tell you that. The reason this is so important however is that not only is your crew going to be there to hold your spot while you go and look for refreshments, but considering that Warp Music Festival 2017 is now a 2-day event (after being single day events over the past 2 years), you may need a team to help carry your weight when your legs give up on you.

Dancing on the sandy beach is surely not like dancing on solid ground. The amazing beach atmosphere comes at a cost and that is the ground will suck up all your energy while you jump up and down to the blasting music. But hey, for a survivor like you that should be child’s play. Enjoy the sea breeze while you are at it and dance like there is no tomorrow…except there will be, since again, we repeat Warp Music Festival 2017 will be a 2-day event!

Prepare Your Base and Escape Route

Now that you have your crew in place, it is essential that your team has the perfect “home base” to rest as well as the right modes of transportation to make an escape when the time has come. Warp Base Station, which is near Saisawan Resort, is about a 30-minute drive from Pattaya City center. There are 3 suggested hotels currently available that have partnered up to go on this adventure and are all offering hotel+ticket deals including: 1) D@Sea: 5 minutes from the venue, 2) Neo Hotel: 15 minutes from the venue, and 3) Jomthien Thani: 15 minutes from the venue.

All of which have different room types available depending on your team’s requirement. The beautiful thing is, all hotel packages are inclusive of breakfast so that you can refuel your body when needed and stay rested when desired. There is also a free shuttle bus that will take you to and from the event from all the partnering hotels.

Gear for Your Ears and Eyes

One key element that Warp Music Festival possesses and may be the reason why the die-hard Warp fans keep coming back for more, is the awesome-hard-hitting-trap-based sounds that get spewed from the stage. With Zeds Dead, Deorro, Sam Feldt, Crankdat, Gammer, DJ 4B, Breathe Carolina, Excision, Say My Name and Dyro all confirmed as captains of the Warp ship, there is no doubt the we can expect the same signature sounds. That together with the burning visuals that will light up your night, it is important for all revelers to prepare some gear that would be useful to make sure you last as long as possible.

It is always easy to overlook and take your ears and eyes for granted, but to stay on the safe side as you dance your night away we recommend bringing some music-grade ear plugs that will keep your eardrums safe, but still allow you to hear every little detail of the music. At the same time, to shield your eyes from the scorching alien-like lasers some shades for your eyes would also do the trick. This way you can have fun and stay energized and protected, all at the same time.

Suit Up Your Team

A big part of Warp Music Festival is the fact that it encourages people to suit up in full on space gear. Just like any space traveler, if you want to survive, suiting up for the right occasion takes time to plan with precision. We have seen alien onesies, space suits, and blow-up T-Rex costumes (?!) that have roamed the past few events – so it would be a wise choice if you were to come prepared and not look out of place.

This makes for some awesome pictures with the crew and will add to your unforgettable box of memories. Of course, with the event being outdoors right on the beach, plan accordingly. Sandals are recommended to go with any theme you intend to go with because sand-in-sneakers is a recipe for lost shoes.

Ration Your Food Well

The Rave Nation team knows that there are not many nearby food vendors so they decided to create a food area just for those who are preparing to dance the night away. The smart choice would be to enjoy the food in the food area so you have enough energy to take-off in space.

You can also choose to walk to the closest hotel for some hotel food, but if your tastes are more refined and there are certain things that you would rather have without having to wait in line for a long time, try bringing food with you to eat before you enter the event. With so many friendly faces around, there may be a time when food is the currency that can easily be exchanged for friendship!

If you have managed to ensure that these things are taken care of, there is no doubt that you will have a blast this year as Survivors of Saturn. Tickets are slowly selling out but there are GA tickets still available for THB 2,600. We look forward to seeing all of you on the other side!
