Above Eleven
The aptly named Above 11 on the 32nd and 33rd floor of Fraser Suites at the end of Soi 11 has gotten its name for their fine fusion of Japanese - Peruvian called Nikkei cuisine and Asian infused cocktail mixes.
The two-floored venue has glowing purple decals and artificial grass that line the edges for a very modern touch. It features a wide open bar that sits in the center of the first floor and a more intimate second floor with larger groups seatings. Happy hour is between 6 to 8 pm daily and features a 50% discount on selected drinks.
Recommendations include the Arroz con Pollo, Above Roll, and Mojito. We’d suggest reserving a table beforehand as Above 11 is a popular location that tends to be fully booked daily.
Abar & Abar Rooftop
Located on the 37th and 38th floor of the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, the newly opened Abar’s 1930s Victorian English decor is bound to impress.
With one of the largest selection of gins in the city at over a choice of fifty including a variety of craft labels, this hidden gem exudes a sophisticated feel with its dark wooden, candlelit interior.
The rooftop opens earlier from 5 pm to 1:00 am. Recommendations include their signature Gin & Tonic and innovative gin infused cocktails.
Vanilla Sky Bar
Set atop the Compass SkyView hotel on the 35th floor, Vanilla Sky Bar takes a more laid-back approach with an open seating of low tables and sofas across the space.
Watching the skilled bartenders perform mixologist tricks with flaming towers of cocktails against the sweeping skyline makes for quite the viewing experience.
Although there isn’t a fixed “happy hour “ at Vanilla Sky, the bar often posts up to date promotions on selected occasions on their social media pages. Recommendations include the Cosmopolitan, Margarita and Dry Martini.
Cielo Sky Bar & Restaurant
Cielo can be found on the 46th floor of the Sky Walk Condominium and boasts fine dining of Italian and Thai cuisine. A 360 panoramic view joins an impeccable theme of the 1960s “Art Deco” era.
Executive Chef Ping Surakit Khemkaew oversees the restaurant with a top-notch standard the has won him awards both regional and International.
Five zones make up the space, with an outdoor balcony overlooking the Chao Phraya river, an open bar indoors for a front seat to the mixologists’ concoctions and a secluded area for private celebrations upon request. L'Appart Restaurant and Rooftop Bar
More on the fancier side, L’Appart is located on the 32nd floor of Sofitel Sukhumvit. The exquisite interior design is an immediate wow factor at first impression, but wait till you see the splendid presentation of the dishes - prepare to be dazzled by the restaurant’s very own Executive Sous Chef Nicolas Basset.
