After a long day of work, we all look for ways to relax and let go of the stress we collect during the high levels of intensity of the working hours. Some of us look forward to a nice warm shower and sleeping on their fluffy bed, some stop for a nice meal, but most of us will be meeting up with friends for a pleasant night out. Imagine a bustling local restaurant/bar, sounds of chatter fill the air along with the sweet tunes from the live band. You sit down with a few friends, grab a bottle for the table, and talk the whole night through. Whether it's about work, life, love, or the past, we know it can go on for days. And with an ice-cold glass of a smooth drink, you'd be sure to end the memorable night with only smiles and feeling refreshed for the next working day.

On May 19, 2018, MERIDIAN Brandy recreated those special moments with the Smooth Taste Smooth Talk event at Zen Gallery. Throughout the night, guests were treated with 3 unique stories from 3 of Thailand’s most sought-after personalities, DJ Petjah, DJ Tonhorm, and Cutto (Lipta). Each speaker was accompanied by a mini-concert from leading Thai artists including Pop Rock band Getsunova, easy-listening vocalist Pop Pongkool, and Hip-hop grandmaster Joey Boy, perfectly resembling an ideal night out after work with friends and colleagues.

As you enter the party, you’ll be treated with smooth MERIDIAN brandy served in a diamond-shaped glass and a special show from Opor Praput from The Voice Thailand Season 2 to get things started for the night. Inside, you’ll find a few booths with interesting activities right next the to stage. One of them gives us the opportunity to write down a personal story we’d like to share on an inflatable plastic sign. You could choose to hang it up for display or take it home afterward as a souvenir. Right next to this booth is a mini stage with an open microphone, providing an opportunity for the few brave souls among the crowd to share their stories with everyone in the event to enjoy.

The main event kicked off as soon as the clock struck 8 and everybody in the room was cheering as TV personality Piyawat Kempetch (PK) takes to stage as the MC of the night. Shortly after, it was time for the first guest speaker, Cutto from Lipta, to take over the microphone and share everyone a story about friends in a session called “Smooth Friendship”. He talked about his good friend Eddy, drummer of Thai pop band Jetset’er, and how friends like this always have your back even in tough times. He continued to raise an example of when Eddy acted, and the world’s best wingman, prompting smiles and laughter from the crowd as most of them can relate to the story.

After the smooth talk, it was then time for the smooth vocals of Pop Pongkool who joined Cutto on the stage. They performed a song together and got the crowd into a laid-back mood, resembling a scene of a local gathering place where most of us go with our friends after work to enjoy excellent drinks like MERIDIAN and quality live music all night long. Pop made every minute count and brought out almost 10 hit songs in a short period of time, giving the crowd a fulfilling performance.

The microphone was then passed on to DJ Tonhorm where she shared some advice with the ladies about managing their charm and looks in a session called “Smooth Flirt”. She talked about the 3 S’s women should hold close to their hearts in this day and age. First, a woman should always look “stunning” both in appearance and her personality as it will bring forward countless opportunities. Next, a woman should be “smart” about managing her emotions and never let anger or fixation get the better of her life. Lastly, a woman is “strong” about anything life throws at her. Love to the fullest, but never let a broken heart pull them down to their lowest and always be ready for a new beginning. Her colorful jokes aside, DJ Tonhorm was given lengthy applause from the audience and met with only cheers as she walked off the stage.

Before the last speaker takes the stage, it was the queue of Hip-hop legend Joey Boy and his friends DJ Spidermonkey and Beeazy. The crowd was treated with an energetic performance that featured all-time hits like Slow Motion, Play Girl, and The Rapper.

Last on the speaker's list was DJ Petjah who presented the audience with his personal experience as an entrepreneur in the session called "Smooth Biz". He shared that back in his college days; he sold a watch his father bought him on his birthday to fund his alcohol shop business. After this first taste of being a business owner, he also talked about how he experimented with many other industries and left off by telling the crowd to never stop working towards on their goals and dreams.

The night closed out on a high note with a memorable performance from Getsunova. The crowd held their phone flashlights up high and waved along to the soulful tunes while singing their hearts out to every word the entire time.
