Favela Bangkok is one of the latest addition to the list of top Bangkok nightclubs having had their Grand Opening Party just this past Saturday, September 22, 2018.

The name “Favela”, Brazilian Portuguese for “slum”, refers to the low-income urban areas in Brazil. Having first appeared in Rio de Janeiro during the late 19th century, favela culture has gained popularity as inspiration for art in other parts of the world in recent years.

Favelas are also known to have a party culture with Reggaetón, Latino, and Urban music being the popular choice among the communities. Favela Bangkok is introducting Thailand to the lifestyle of the people from Brazil and other Latino areas and help us better understand the true music culture of favelas through this uniquely modern nightclub.

Favela Bangkok is located on the 2nd floor of The Opus in Soi Thonglor 10. Inside, you’ll find a modern setup with a luxurious touch in all corners of the nightclub. The floorings, walls, bar, and furniture all come in white, giving us a spacious feeling while keeping everything attractive.

The unique lighting system both on the inside and outside of the club can be seen as soon as you step into Soi Thonglor 10. There’s also an outdoor balcony zone where you can catch a view of Thonglor’s bustling atmosphere through the night.

The idea behind Favela Bangkok’s all-white theme comes from the thought of introducing a fresh new look to nightclubs. Most clubs in Bangkok are decorated and designed to make the overall lighting a bit dark, hiding almost everyone in the darkness. The founders of Favela Bangkok, however, want to lighten things up and let everybody in the club see what a good time they’re having.

Most of us are used to bars and nightclubs having live bands or DJs putting on popular Pop, Rock, Dance, Techno, EDM, or Hip-Hop. Favela Bangkok, however, offers a whole different music genre than all the other places in the area.

If you’re a fan of Reggaeton, Brazilian Funk and Urban Latino music then you’re in luck, because Favela Bangkok will be turning up Reggaetón and Urban Latino music every night with some of the best international DJs on the turntable for you to dance the night away. There will also be some Urban Hip Hop tunes to switch things from time to time.

For the drinks, Favela Bangkok offers all sorts of beverages to suit your needs, including classic cocktails, wines, champagnes, beers, gin, whiskey, bourbon, vodka, and tequila. But if you want to keep the Latin experience going, you can go for their Latin-American style signature cocktails. There are over ten options to choose from, including Caipirinha (350 THB) and Batida (350 THB) made with the Brazilian national alcoholic drink “cachaça” (hard sugarcane liquor). Beers start from 200 THB, and bottle packages start from 4,000 THB.

We can certainly say that Favela Bangkok offers a new kind of experience to the Ekkamai-Thonglor area as a Reggaeton nightclub. If you want to catch a glimpse of the culture and lifestyle of the people halfway across the world through their music, drinks, and people, be sure to drop by Favela Bangkok on your next night out. The nightclub opens Tuesdays through Sunday from 21:00 until late.
