Siam2nite had the opportunity to have an exclusive interview with Albert Neve, shortly before his performance at Onyx RCA on 13th November.

You are one of Spain’s most renowned DJs. How did you get in touch with electronic dance music in the first place?

My first contact with electronic music was when I was 10 years old. My cousin gave me an old tape recording of a band called “Kraftwerk” (godfathers of electronic music) The first time I heard it, I found the album to be a little bit boring (to be honest) but I started to be more and more interested, so I quickly started to love electronic music at his best.

You play and produce Electro- & Progressive House. How would you describe your own music in just a few words?

I only need one… eclectic. I love music, I love lots of different styles, different producers, different bands. I love to mix everything, and combine elements than couldn’t be combined in any other style than electronic.

Your remix of David Guetta’s “Play Hard” was a huge success. What other tracks would you recommend to someone that is not yet familiar with your music?

Without any doubt my brand new remix for Steve Aoki’s track “Rage the night away” It’s in the same line than my remix for David Guetta, with an pounding heavy bass drop. I will recommend too my last single called “Maverick”, it’s a beautiful progressive track that has just been released on iTunes. Oh and also, the remixes of my last track “Generation Love” are about to be published, they are already available in my soundcloud page.

What are you currently working and focusing on? What’s on your agenda for the near future?

I have tons of new projects and some big collaborations that will be released in the upcoming months. My next own big project is going to surprise everyone, I’m dedicating most of my studio time to this little baby, probably I’ll play in Bangkok for the first time ever.

What was the best and the worst gig you ever played and what was the funniest thing ever occurred during any of your performances?

Well, I must say that Tomorrowland’s performance was one of the best and most exciting sets I’ve ever done. There are hundreds of other sets that I’ll also remember forever. The worst gig was many, many years ago, where I had to play for 2 people!!!! I did the gig and had fun anyway. The funniest thing for me happened on a beach festival where I played several years ago. The dj booth was built over the sand, 3 meters above the crowd. The structure began to sink slowly, and I finished playing just over the sand. Crazy!!!

You live in Barcelona – Spain’s second largest city. What can you tell us about clubbing and nightlife in Barcelona? Do you have any nightlife related suggestions for first-time visitors?

Barcelona is one of the most beautiful cities on Spain if you ask me. You can find everything there. It's also one the most visited city in the whole Europe right now. For all the clubbers arriving to the city, there are some venues that should be visited, almost all of them are located in the area called “Paseo Maritimo de la Barceloneta” at the beach. Catwalk, Pacha, Opium, Shoko… all of them are excellent clubs.

On 13th November you will live here in Bangkok at ONYX RCA. What can Bangkok expect of your upcoming performance?

Like I mentioned before, I’m an eclectic guy. You can hear a lot of different sounds in my performances and this time I’ll give the best of me to all the people of Bangkok. House, Future house, EDM, rock, hip hop, classics… all of them mixed together by one crazy spanish guy… that’s me!
