OSE Presents Rock4Sharks: A Charity Rock Concert for Thailand’s Coastal Ecosystem and Marine Wildlife

On this Sunday August 5th, there's an event that allows us to be part of conservationists that aims to reduce plastic waste in the environment. By simply joining this charity Rock concert "Rock 4 Sharks" at De Commune inside Liberty Tower Sukhumvit 55 (Thonglor), you'll be able to help support and even advocate their cause.

This idea started from "Original Sound Experience (OSE)", a group that are passionate in and work to organize Rock-Heavy Metal concerts at various locations. They wanted to help fund "Project Koh Sak" of Dr. Wayne N. Phillips, a professor in Environmental Science at Mahidol University. The project aims to deliver knowledge and experience about island and marine ecosystem, effects of mass tourism, and how to achieve sustainable development through educational tours.

The purpose of this concert is to raise awareness about the negative effects of heavy plastic consumption. Thailand is ranked 3rd among countries that releases plastic waste into the ocean most, taking a toll of the country's marine wildlife and ecosystem more than you can imagine. The organizers aim to be the voice of delicate coastal ecosystems, coral reefs, and every single marine wildlife that are being affected by the overuse of plastic in our society today.

The theme of the event is "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle", therefore, you will not be able to bring in any kind of plastic bag into the event area. Inside, you have chance to enjoy 11 of Thailand's very own Rock and Indie Metal bands. The line-up includes Tragedy of Murder, Cana, The Rocket Whale, Defying Decay, EX'S and OH'S, Jon Will Sail, Nobuna, Annnalynn, The Darkest Romance, Falling in Between and Jimmy Revolt. You can prepare for some head-banging and jumping from 3 pm all the way to 11 pm as all the bands will be giving it all they've got for this show.

Check out some hit songs from the bands here:

An oppurtunity to be part of such an amazing conservation project for both wildlife and the environment. If you're interested in attending, tickets are up for grabs at only 250 THB. All the profits will be used to fund Project Koh Sak and their causes. If you're can't make it to the show, you can still take part in this charity event by making your donations straight to Project Koh Sak via their bank account 333-240219-6 named Project Koh Sak (Wayne Nicolas Phillips).
