With the Chinese Lunar New Year right around the corner on January 25 (Sat), we’re excited to see red fashion accessories, as well as various CNY-themed products, line the shelves.
However, one particular collection has been a cause for early celebration for beauty bloggers and makeup fans alike. Lunar Illusions Chinese New Year Collection 2020 is how MAC Cosmetics welcomes the Year of the Rat. The lineup includes cushion compacts, blush-ons, eyeshadows, lipsticks, and highlighters.
The collection features packaging that befits the auspicious occasion, with time-honored aesthetics, intricate shapes, and vibrant colors. However, the design steers away from the traditional bright red shades, and instead opts for more subdued, delicate tones and elaborate Chinese patterns.
Another unconventional choice in Lunar Illusions is the use of the divine dragon instead of a rat to match the coming year.

Last but not least is EMPTY CUSHION COMPACT / LUNAR ILLUSIONS (650 THB), which can be fitted with Lightful C SPF50/PA++++ Quick Finish Cushion Compact. The design combines an iridescent purple case and delicate patterns in yellow, blue, and pink, making the piece look like fine chinaware.
