MSCHF x INRI Nike Air Max 97 “Jesus Shoes”

MSCHF x INRI Nike Air Max 97 caused quite a stir when it was first unveiled in October. Evoking images from the Christian faith and mythology, the collection is appropriately dubbed “Jesus Shoes”.

For these custom-made Nike Air Max 97, Nike works with Brooklyn-based streetwear brand, MSCHF. This holy edition includes a number of religious motifs, but the most notable one is the 60 ml of holy water in the Air midsole.

The water is taken from the Jordan River, where God parted the body of water to let the Israelites cross, and blessed with all the proper rites. With this, you’ll be able to add a divine touch every step.

Other details include an ornate cross that hangs from the lace and the “MT. 14:25” inscription on the toe box. The biblical reference stands for Matthew 14:25, which tells the miracle of Jesus walking on water.

Only 24 pairs of the limited edition sneakers were made available on Jesus.shoes for 1,425 USD (45,000 THB). Despite the steep price tag, the model had sold out in mere minutes. Considering the original price and the limited production, it comes as no surprise that some of the resale offers have gone over 100,000 THB.
