[Recap] AnotherWorld Festival 2017: An Out of This World Experience

[Recap] AnotherWorld Festival 2017: An Out of This World Experience

Hardstyle fans had to wait quite a while before they had a festival to call their own in Thailand but when it came, it surely delivered. On March 4th, 2017 at Motorsport Land the riot of the unknown world was unleashed in full force and hordes of anti-human ravers descended on AnotherWorld Festival 2017. It was a gathering of everyone who wanted to unleash the untamed.

For those of you who went, it was likely that you were headbanging so hard that waking up the next day felt like you went to the gym. But for those who did not make it, fear not, the organizers will surely be back after all the positive reviews that they got from the first edition. To help you visualize better all the awesomeness that ensued, here are our top 5 reasons everyone seemed to enjoy what was a hard-hitting festival.

Pure Hardstyle

There are some people who like a variety of music styles when they attend festivals. Granted, those people have a fair point in that it keeps them on their toes. However, when a festival clearly stated that they were going to deliver one type of music and managed to do it in such a way that it still kept people engaged for the whole festival, that is a feat on its own.

Hardstyle may not be accessible to certain people, but AnotherWorld Festival surely opened that can of worms with a close to perfect execution. The combination of music and organization really ensured that the whole event gave the attendees a big dose of heavy hitting bass sounds that surely shook the grounds all the way to the bedrock.

World-Class Hardstyle DJs

It would have been difficult to throw such an event without the main actors coming through in a big big way. Luckily for everyone, these top gun hardstyle DJs are recognized and revered globally not just by chance. Coone, Zatox, Noise Controllers, Mighty Fools, Code Black, and MC DL all came with a purpose and that purpose was to bring the house down with their very own interpretation of hardstyle.

Every chance there was, the superstar DJs ensured that the crowds were always engaged and with MC DL hyping the crowd the whole show, it was hard for anyone to stop dancing. You tend to forget that your body has limits when everything just seems to click right – you jump higher, dance longer, sing louder – that is exactly what happened to the attendees whether they were all the way up front gate crashing, mosh pitting in the middle, or standing in the VIP.

A Unique Stage

AnotherWorld Festival 2017 promised to showcase a unique stage that would be suitable for a festival that prided itself on being different and embracing alien lifeforms. For those who go to a lot of festivals, it is easy to be skeptical about how they would pull it off but somehow the organizers managed. Instead of a wide flat stage, AnotherWorld’s stage was a series of totem like columns with moving parts that when coupled with the music, lights, and flares somehow made dancing even more epic.

The stage was alive not just because of the images, but its moving parts made the experience very trippy and exciting at the same time. We have not seen many stages in Thailand like it and frankly speaking, we cannot wait to see what the next iteration of AnotherWorld will bring is next year!

Awesome Food Choices

It would be an atrocity to talk about AnotherWorld Festival without giving special mention to the food and beverage area the organizers so diligently prepared. We get it, you go to festivals to dance and have a good time. It was probably not the first thought in your head to be able to get an awesome gourmet burger or pizza RIGHT ON FESTIVAL grounds! The choice of food the organizers brought was exactly that and with a pretty effective management system ensured there were a good number of seats, not too long a line, and easy payment systems.

Came early and did not have time to have dinner? No problem! Need a break mid-festival from overdancing? Sure thing! How about a late-night meal so that you do not have to get out of your way to find a 24-hour restaurant? We got you! It was so effective and well executed that the food area on its own could have easily rivaled a beer garden had one been opened nearby.

Extremely Suitable Venue

We are glad Dan Neramit or Magic Land, the previous tenants of the festival location, left to the organizers of AnotherWorld Festival the Dream Castle – a longstanding white castle landmark that definitely turns heads of all passersby. The organizers ensured that the gigantic castle did not invade on the festival but rather played a silent partner giving the venue mystique and gave the festival a grand backdrop that enhanced its vibe.

But it was not just what was left on the land itself that was great, it was also the fact that the location of the festival can still be very much considered as still being “in town”. Getting there with the MRT was fairly simple and if you instead choose to use a taxi it would not have been that difficult either. It was definitely a plus to experience AnotherWorld with convenience.

There is a reason why AnotherWorld Festival got raving reviews, but if you want to find out about some of them in greater detail we recommend you find out for yourselves. Make sure you condition your bodies starting today to withstand the glorious music this new comer festival will surely continue to bring.
