6 Ice Cream Shops to Battle The Bangkok Heat

So, in no particular order, we would like to recommend you some interesting dessert shops found in Bangkok in hopes that they can help you battle the so called ‘super summer’.

1) Tongue Fun

Let’s start off with Tongue Fun, a Thai style dessert shop that has caught the attention of the citizens in Bangkok with their unique menu. Should you order seven scoops of ice-cream or more, the shop will deliver your order in a hot-pot, served with dry ice for maximum smoke effect.

Apart from this, there are 50 different types of ice-cream to choose from such as Kod Nom (Super Milk), Vodka Red Bull, and even Wasabi.

Their main shop is located at Soi Yotse across from Huachiew Hospital and operates from 7:00pm until 11:00pm every day.

Other franchises: Soi Lad Phrao 71, Terminal 21 (5th floor), The Scene Town in Town (Lad Phrao 94)

For more information, be sure to check out their Facebook page.

2) Emack and Bolio’s

This shop draws in a crowd that is looking to fill their stomach with something sweet as the shop offers a large serving to their customers.

The brand was brought over from Boston, USA, with roughly around 20 various types of flavours to choose from, including Chocolate Oreo Crunch, Rainbow Dots, Sprinkles, Nutella, as well as Rice Krispy.

Apart from that, all the ingredients are of the highest quality, another factor that makes this shop a must-try.

Emack and Bolio’s operates every day between 10:00am until 10:00pm and are located at Central World (6th floor the Atrium) and EmQuartier (7th floor).

For more information, be sure to check out their Website.

3) Stickhouse

Let’s move on to a shop that serves their ice-cream on the classic stick. Brought over from Italy, they serve high-end homemade ice-cream with 100% natural ingredients. Using a special technique, their products are created with zero-air, meaning that there are no air bubbles in each and every scoop.

In addition to that, they have a huge range of toppings to add even more flavors to your unique ice-cream creations. Some examples are your usual Milk, Chocolate, and Coffee, but they also have fruit selections such as Lemon, Mango, Banana, as well as Raspberry.

They operate every day from 10:00am until 10:00pm and can be found at Siam Paragon (G Floor), Terminal 21 (4th Floor), EmQuartier (B Floor), and Tha Maharaj.

For more information, be sure to check out their Facebook page.

4) Spice Story

Spice Story is a shop run by the owners of the famous Thai pepper brand, Nguan Soon. The thing that makes them unique is they are able to get their hands on a variety of spices and ingredients from all over the world to make all their products vastly different.

When it comes to their ice-cream, they are able to create new and interesting flavours using their knowledge of spices. Some highlights from their shop are Pepper Magic, Chili on Ice, Milk Tea Ginger, Orange Cinnamon, as well as Lemongrass. So, if your keen to try something new and unique, this is definitely the shop for you.

Spice Story opens every day from 10:00am until 10:00pm and can be found at Siam Paragon (Gourmet Market), EmQuartier (Gourmet Market), The Emporium (Gourmet Market), Terminal 21 (Gourmet Market), Central Embassy (Eat Thai Zone), and Central Chidlom (Food Hall).

For more information, be sure to check out their Website.

5) Softree

Softree is a shop that serves organic milk ice-cream, delivered straight from Seoul, South Korea. They are very popular back in Korea due to the soft aromatic texture of their products.

Despite only having one flavour to choose from, there are a wide variety of topics such as Sweet Coco (Coconut Flakes), Magic Lamp (Crushed Nuts and Cereal), and their highlight Liquid Honey or Honey Comb.

So, if you’re keen to try out this place, there is definitely no need for you to fly all the way to Seoul in order to grab a taste.

Softree opens every day from 10:00am until 10:00pm and can be found at EmQuartier (B Floor).

For more information, be sure to check out their Facebook page.

6) IceDEA

Let’s round off this topic with a shop that serves more than just ice-cream, especially because the menu at IceDEA can be compared to pieces of artwork. Their products are uniquely built and served as beautifully crafted scoops.

They serve both ice-cream as well as sorbet, boosting more than 20 different types of flavours to choose from. Some unique examples are Wasabi, Khao Tom Mhat, and Global Warming. Apart from that, you can even choose from specially made selections such as Tonkatsu, World Cup Brownie Set, and so on.

Another bonus is that their menu is ever-changing, giving you the opportunity to try new creations on more than one occasion.

IceDEA operates every Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30am – 6:30pm and can be found at the Bangkok Art & Culture Centre (4th Floor). They are also located at Central Ladprao (G Floor) and are open from 10:00am up until 10:00pm.
